I drew inspiration from a detail of Pablo Picasso’s Cubist *Guitar* painting. In many Eastern European cultures, red wine and good jazz seem like essential imports that have been woven into the rhythm of everyday life. This piece captures a small slice of that atmosphere. Its title, *Красное Вино и Джаз* (“Red Wine and Jazz”), reflects that spirit.
