This was painted from a Facebook photograph of a cat striking a supine pose with a hookah.  The cat was encouraged to investigate the smoking end of the hookah because some catnip encouragement had been placed inside. One click later, and voilà! The pose, of course, was entirely the cat’s idea.

The subject will still offend some individuals, even though the phrase “catnip” has been plainly marked on the hookah. The composition was intended to poke some fun at anyone supporting certain… panaceas. But to reassure anyone who doesn’t partake, catnip is closer to a pheromone than a psychoactive drug, and no cats were harmed in the process.
