This piece was inspired by a sad little bonsai in a waiting room. The office building was likely oriented the wrong way for the plant to receive enough sunlight, a problem made worse by its sparse leaves. The trunk was stubby and warped, resembling an animal; set so closely to the window, it appeared to peer out at the treeless landscape with forlorn longing. I added eyes and hands to help complete the effect.
